According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there should be more than 74,000 new openings for dental assistants up to the year 2022. The dental profession is currently facing a shortage of trained assistants. The result of the shortage has caused the starting pay rate for experienced dental assistants considerably higher than non-experienced. Most offices will not even consider anyone with no experience. Following your training in this 10 week entry-level course, you will have the confidence and experience to apply for these positions. Upon graduation, you will also receive job counseling services to ensure that you are interview ready.
The counseling will include tips on how to mentally prepare for an interview, proper attire, interview etiquette and an actual Job Interview.
The teaching is stimulating, fast paced, and relies heavily on your participation. The largest size of each class will be one instructor per 8 students. An excellent textbook is used (yes, there are reading assignments and homework), so classroom time can be spent learning the “hands-on” stuff. If you are inspired by this entry level course you may move on to take other courses that would lead to x-ray certification, expanded function licensure or even become a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA), which is a nationally recognized title!
