This course is designed to introduce the student to the art and science of Dentistry and Dental Assisting.
You will learn to assist the dentist chairside, four-handed dentistry, sterilization procedures, all of the major dental procedures, dental terminology, education and promotion of oral health through the delivery of dental treatment.
Upon graduation, students can work as chair-side assistants, sterilization assistants or hygiene assistants in a private or public dental facility.

The role of an administrative dental assistant is essential to the daily operation of a dental office…. you could make the difference between success or failure of a dental practice.
In this course you will gain knowledge of computerized dental software, dental insurance billing and coding, proper legal communication for HIPAA compliance, productive appointment scheduling techniques, bookkeeping and accounting, account receivables and payables and Recall systems.
Upon completion of our curriculum you will be able to work in a dental office administrative position such as dental receptionists, insurance billing specialist, business assistants, records managers, bookkeepers, appointment schedulers or recall retention specialists to name a few in a private dental office or clinic. The opportunities can lead to a position of office manager.
This course is designed for the dental assistant to gain the basic knowledge and skills necessary to take x-rays. This course satisfies the educational prerequisites for professional x-ray certification in Maryland
This is a 3 step process.
1. Complete the Radiology course.
2. Upon completion you will be eligible to take the National dental radiology exam offered by DANB.
3. After passing the DANB exam you will be able to apply for a state license to take x-rays.
Once licensed as a dental radiology technician this qualification will help to advance your career and open doors for more exciting opportunities.
This course is designed to teach the dental assistant the knowledge and skills necessary to become certified as an expanded functions dental assistant. This course satisfies the educational prerequisites for the Qualified Dental Assistant in General duties (QDA) certification in Maryland.
You will learn expanded functions duties for Crown and Bridge, Endodontics, Restorative, oral surgery and Periodontal procedures. You will learn to take alginate impressions and pour then up in stone as well as temporary crown fabrication.
Upon graduation you will be able to apply for the DANB Expanded functions exam. After successfully passing the DANB you will be able to apply for a license to legally perform expanded duties in any state
